What Is A .XLSx File?

XLSx is the latest document format used by Microsoft Office 2007 and later versions, it follows the Office Open XML (OOXML) format for storing spreadsheet data.

XLSx files cannot be opened in older versions of Microsoft Office prior to Office 2007, however there are some add-ins you can use to view the documents in older versions of office and also tools to convert and open XLSx files to older document formats.
